About the awards
Established in 2020, the Globe & Mail’s Best Executive Awards are presented annually to exceptional Canadian business leaders who have made significant contributions to their organizations and the broader community. Designed to recognize non-CEO leaders, the program showcases the “under-celebrated heroes” of the Canadian industry – whether they are executing against core business strategies or leading key teams – they are essential in keeping the Canadian economy buzzing.
Nominees are evaluated based on a set of criteria that includes financial performance, innovation, leadership skills, and community involvement. Over the years, the Best Executive Awards program has recognized some of Canada’s most accomplished business leaders, including Ibrahim Gedeon of Telus Communications, Mark Wiseman of BlackRock, and Linda Hasenfratz of Linamar.
